Winding its way through the landscape from Woodcock Hill to its confluence with the Tamar, the River Lyd makes its way into the lives of those who live along and enjoy this 15 mile stretch of beautiful Devonshire countryside.
We are gathering together at Sydenham House on Wednesday 26th October to kick off the River Buffs project – a project that will give you the chance to gain more skills and more knowledge about the River Lyd, its environment and its ecology.
Exactly what this will involve? That’s in your hands…
We want to know what your interests are and how you want to be involved. So this first meeting will be an opportunity to talk about the project and hear your views. Then we can develop a programme of events based on what will be interesting to you. This may or may not include…(that’s up to you!)
• Riverfly Partnership invertebrate monitoring training
• Water Quality monitoring techniques
• Moving water and outdoor first aid training
• River and ecological survey techniques
• Sustainability and environmental good practice
• Practical habitat conservation techniques
The meeting will take place in Sydenham House’s Conference Room (EX20 4PR), starting at 6.30 om on the 26th October.
Coming along? Please let us know so we can ensure ample tea and biscuit supplies!
Can’t make it? Let us know if you’re interested and we’ll supply you with the latest information.
