Come along for an evening of short talks and informative stalls, to learn about the endangered White-clawed crayfish in the Creedy.

The evening will focus on:

  • The Creedy Catchment Crayfish Conservation project
  • The plight of the endangered White-clawed crayfish and the impact of the invase American Signal crayfish
  • Being a citizen scientist and monitoring the water-quality in the Creedy
  • Volunteering to take part in crayfish surveys

The Creedy Catchment Crayfish Conservation project, led by the Wild Planet Trust and funded by Natural England and South West Water, is raising awareness of the plight of the White-clawed crayfish, one of Devon’s rarest endangered native species. The project will be working with the local community, landowners and other stakeholders to develop an action plan aimed at improving water quality and restoring habitat to help safeguard the future of white-clawed crayfish in the river Creedy.

The WRT Fisheries and Rivers Team have been inputting to the Creedy Catchment Action Plan, which aims to set up further crayfish conservation projects.

The event will include free refreshments. Reserve your free spot here https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/creedy-catchment-crayfish-conservation-project-community-evening-tickets-526779952017
