DONATIONS to our charity this week will be doubled, helping us keep bringing rivers to life where you live.

We are taking part in the Big Give’s Green Match Fund, as part of our Bringing Rivers to You campaign, to raise money to keep protecting and restoring the region’s freshwater habitats, while giving people the opportunity to reconnect with their rivers.

Rivers need our help

With rivers facing various challenges from issues such as pollution, it is important they have the chance to thrive again and we are aiming to raise £5,000 from public donations, which will be matched by the Big Give champion up to £10,000.

Our comms manager Josie Purcell said: “River health is vital for wildlife and biodiversity but also for the role it plays in our lives.

“Many of us spend time by our region’s waterways to relax and unwind and we want our rivers to be in a fit state for people to enjoy them.

“With every penny donated doubled that means twice the opportunity for us to continue to care for our rivers and their environments.”

How your donation can make a difference

Funding secured will help us to continue its with our flagship citizen science project, provide resources for its education programme, support farmers and anglers with advice, create volunteering opportunities, deliver creative workshops and more, all with the aim of caring for rivers, streams, wetlands, lakes and estuaries across Cornwall, Devon, Somerset and into Dorset.

Visit https://donate.biggive.org/ to donate to the Bringing Rivers to You Green Match Fund up to noon on 27 April.
