Significant disruption to Shipley Bridge car park for the week 9 – 13 September

Westcountry Rivers Trust, in partnership with South West Water and the Environment Agency will be undertaking gravel augmentation on the River Avon, Devon.

In the final year of a five-year project, 220 tonnes of gravel will be added at eight locations between the dam and Badworthy to improve spawning habitat for salmon and trout.

In agreement with Dartmoor National Parks Authority, Shipley Bridge car park will be used as a base for operations.

The gravel will be delivered by lorry and then mobilised by heavy machinery using the access road to the dam. The road between Aish and Shipley Bridge will also experience some disruption.

Please be aware; WRT advise caution if planning to come to the area.

All precautions will be taken with regards to health and safety for the duration of the operations.
