WaterFit

The region’s water company, South West Water (SWW) has launched its new interactive water quality map, WaterFit Live, ahead of this year’s bathing season.

Developed through the company’s £330m investment programme WaterFit, this map will help people find out about any issues relating to water quality at bathing beaches.

Plus the location and performance of storm overflows, other plans to improve water quality and the enhancement of the map with near real-time individual storm overflow updates will be shared in the coming months.

Currently, designated bathing waters are only at beaches but SWW is working to understand river water quality too, with pilots running at the rivers Dart and Tavy and plans to also expand on river health information later this year.
