New figures from The Environment Agency (EA) have indicated that Cornwall has had more water pollution incidents than elsewhere in England.
Data obtained by Radar has shown that the EA recorded 1,278 incidents over five years in the county, which means it is the only location to top 1,000 cases.
Our CEO Dr Laurence Couldrick highlighted how detrimental pollution on Cornish rivers and seas is given their “economic and environmental importance”.
He is urging water companies to make speedy improvements, while noting pressures from agriculture and other sources are also damaging to river health.
