Agri Carbon Kernow
Part-funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, Agri Carbon Kernow is a collaboration between Duchy College, Westcountry Rivers Trust, Cornwall Wildlife Trust, the Farm Carbon Toolkit and the Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly Growth Hub to deliver support to a limited number of farms during 2024 with additional funding to continue delivery in 2025.
Progress So Far 2024:
For Westcountry rivers Trust the aim was to visit farms for free to talk about how they could improve their water resilience and the impact of their enterprises on the quality and quantity of water in their catchments
35 farms visited across Cornwall to promoting water resilience through:
- Storage tanks
- Ponds & solar pumps
- Erosion control (swales, bunds)

🚜 On-Farm Water Assessments – Coming in 2025
In 2025, an additional 20 farms will be visited as part of our commitment to improving water resilience and environmental outcomes across the landscape.
🔍 What the Visits Will Cover:
Each visit will include an on-farm assessment and the development of a tailored Water Action Plan, focusing on:
- 💧 Current water useon the farm
- 🌊 Impact of farm operationson nearby watercourses
- 🌱 Opportunities for improved water management
Farmers will receive a practical and costed list of options, designed to suit their individual circumstances and operational needs.
💡 Support and Funding Guidance
As part of the process, each farm will also receive:
- Advice on available funding or grant schemes
- Help identifying the most relevant and accessible financial supportto implement chosen actions
